Since February 2011 I have been working as an Information Management Officer at the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS). The majority of my work deals with the data produced by the Commission and presented in various forms (e.g. Canmore) and the relevant national and international standards and guidance underpinning data developments. Since I have an interest and background in social media and archaeology, RCAHMS has been kind enough to allow It’s Not Just A Trowel to be developed into an experiment in social media by blogging about my work at the Commission, my interests and my experiences in the position, in essence a staff blog.
From here I will be blogging on my current work at the Commission highlighting interesting and challenging things that I come across. It is hoped that this will give an insight into the processes behind RCAHMS and promote a better awareness and understanding of staff roles.
As always the blog is open to public comments and feedback is welcomed!
Posts made here are still in a personal capacity and views expressed here are my own and not that of my employer.
